Itachi and akatsuki

Ever since the truth about Itachi was revealed I've always been curious about the relationship between Itachi and Obito behind the scenes in akatsuki. According to Obito he knew alot more about Itachi then he thought and If Itachi knew about Obito's secrets he would be dead by now. According to Obito the uneasy alliance started at the Uchiha clan massacre and after that time Obito let Itachi into akastsuki. Itachi was probably happy with this considering he could keep an eye on Obito making sure he would'nt go against his promise and attack the leaf or Sasuke. However, my question is what did Obito gain in allowing Itachi into akatsuki?

Obito knew Itachi was powerful and will not go down easily more over if Itachi had gotten serious he would have killed obito

Obito gained a lot from Itachi- help with tailed beasts, help with killing off the uchiha clan while keeping his identity secret, let Sasuke be so that he can take care of Itachi as per his plan later only to use him as a pawn after Itachi dies, and once that's done he can attack Konoha without warning and seal the kyuubi last.

Yes but Obito was really the mastermind behind it all so he must have decided to recruit Itachi, but my question is why? Obito knew that Itachi was really an undercover spy so why let him join?

also from what we've seen from itachi he's very lethal in 1v1 but in a team battle itachi is even more troublesome using his teamates chakra and stamina where he lacked could have ended up in a itachi, kakashi, jiraya rampage that would murder akatsuki

it was Itachi who found obito and made a deal with him since he was planing to wipe the Uchiha clan and obito also intended to do the same .....
So he made a deal with Obito not make a move against the village and not to lay hand on Sasuke......

Exactly, so it makes sense that Itachi was happy to be in akatsuki and keep an eye on Obito. But wouldn't Itachi be a hindrance on Obito's plans to get to Sasuke and the leaf?

itachi was an eyesore for his plans and he never wanted Sasuke at first but when Nagato died he needed some one to sync with gedo mazo

so he recruied sasuke as he was short on members

Itachi was happy since village was safe and also he was keeping eye on the akatsuki... We have seen this Konoha was attacked by Pain after Itachi died and not before that so it make sense .....

Sasuke obviously, obito knew Hitachi was going to die by sasuke and he knew sasukee would then return to konoha and become an enemy he can't defeat especially with naruto. And he was definitely not confident in a fight with itachi.

Itachi would be less trouble in Akatsuki then out of it. He was a hindrance either way but being a member of Akatsuki let Obito keep a closer watch on him.
