There are currently 2 Uchihas alive - and the strongest of them is Uchiha Sasuke. That's an offtopic, so Itachi and Obito are equal I think, Obito will hardly defeat Itachi lol.

Ms Obito has kamui and mokuton, I don't see how itachi will survive.
Also that is only 1 MS, imagine how OP Obito is with 2 of his MS eyes, he easily shits on Itachis mouth!

If Taka is included into the mix, Karin would fall behind Zetsu. Sugitetsu would be above Hidan and possibly above Konan but below Deidara. Jugo would fall above Zetsu and arguably Hidan but below Konan. Sasuke would fall above Kisame and arguably above Itachi and Orochimaru but falls short of MS Obito & Nagato.

If Kabuto is thrown into the mix, with Edo Tensei, he is a clear first place but without Edo he is above MS Obito and arguably above Nagato but below Rinnegan Obito.

He's obviously superior to a majority of the members. Though I do believe that both Kisame and Sasori could put a major hurting on Itachi. Even winning a decent amount of times. But Itachi is pretty loaded with BS techniques.

Deidara is iffy, he could kill Itachi if he caught him off guard. But Itachi is both very intelligent and a genjutsu master... Chances are that Itachi would lead him into some trap, letting Deidara think he's in control.

Kakuzu could probably overwhelm the Yata Mirror with all of his masks, but I think Susano itself is a bit too much for him to get around with brute strength and his pure elemental attacks. But it's clear in a fight between them that Susano would make an appearance.

Konan really isn't anything too impressive, she can just avoid physical attacks by using her paper transformation. But a katon technique would be fairly bad for her.

Hidan and Zetsu both lack the ability to harm Itachi severly. Hidan could probably stalemate or get a slight edge over Itach in close range combat, but Itachi usually has a mix of clones and genjutsu involved when he's in close quarter combat so. . yeah.

Itachi's a very over hyped shinobi, I agree. He's clearly not the alpha dog in the Akatsuki, as Kisame and Sasori have the potential to defeat him. But Pein and Obito without a doubt beat Itachi.

But we can't really deny the fact that he's a powerful and intelligent ninja, and one of the stronger shinobi in the Akatsuki.
