First off, so I'm not labeled a "Minato-fanboy" trying to justify my claim, I'm not a Minato-fanboy. Actually judging by my Avatar I'm most likely a Obito fanboy.

Why wasn't Minato going into Sage Mode in a$$pull? Well for those following the story, honestly its only common sense.

He trained under Master Jiraya during his years after the academy, so why not?

Also, why didn't we get an arch of him learning Sage Mode?

The same reason why we didn't get an arch of Sakura focusing her Chakra in one spot for all those years, releasing it here

Not once anywhere in the manga states or show that Sakura was doing that even tho she spent all her chakra against Sasori (plot-hole confirmed) or that Minato learned SM (Just because you have a contract and were trained by SM users does not mean you are a SM user.

I think the main reason why people are calling this an ass pull is because Kishi decided to have Minato go into SM at the least practical moment. It makes perfect sense for his character to have it, but then where was his SM when he arrived at the battlefield? It would have made more sense for him to arrive in SM, or at the very least help out against Obito with Senjutsu. THATS why its an ass pull, because Kishi likely didn't intend for Minato too have SM until it became relevant to the plot.

This is a win, I don't understand why people don't consider "STUDENT OF JIRAYA, HELLLOOOO" trained under him for years. To me it made sense and only sense, there is not need for explanation

Just because minato was jiraya's pupil dosent mean everything was passed down to him. If that were true of the student pupil relationship then we would see naruto attacking with his hair,sasuke would be using his mouth to curse mark fools, neji and tenten would have eight gates.

Also the rasen gan wasn't passed down through the generations. Minato created it. Showed it to jiraya and kakashi (probobly)

This. I think it's pretty clear that Kishi was thinking about giving Minato Sage Mode for a while, but decided not to, then changed his mind at the last minute, i.e., with this current chapter.
