Zetsu would turn back when he got hit by Rasengan onto his normal persona. He got turned back from Neji after normal Sakura's Punch, so why not after a strong Rasengan?

The only reason I can think of is Madara as a mentor, which made him awake MS, which is then used by zetsu.

Well, if you remember current tobi stopped the heavy sword attack with his left hand without any trouble. I believe obito's left side is still normal and right side is zetsu's plantation kind of thing. The guy who fought minato had left side like zetsu.
