It won't surprise me if they make him cannon at some point.

But due to the animes power scaling, Introducing him would throw everything out of control power wise, Gogeta would be and should be way more powerful then even beerus, Closing in on Whis or even surpassing him in power. That would mean the villians needs to be stronger than Gogeta to make any situation tense in the future, Thus creates an even larger power vacuum between characters and would quickly make even beerus a non-factor in terms of power.

So i kinda hope they don't.
