Why did the Kage decide to sit there and die like fodder?

Realistically speaking there are normally 3 reasons as to why u would stay and fight to da end

1) Weaken the enemy or exhaust him

2) Hold the enemy for reinforcements or just buy time

3) Think of a counter

Now, with these three things being said.. the Kage (Being the best the village have to offer) should have realized very soon that they were heavily outmatched, were getting exhausted, and had nothing to stop him.

1) It's not like Madara was getting weaker since he Edo

2) Not like they had reinforcements (lulz)

3) They had no counters entire fight.


Seems to me that they let there "Kage Pride" get the best of them

It's spelled occurred unless you are speaking of the Honda. & I feel like the Kage knew that Madara was simply Strong as Sh*t and could do nothing. They put all of their chakara into that one huge combination jutsu and when he turned on that perfect Sus... It just stopped it like that, then he went and made it even more buff. So at that point I'm thinking the Kage are just hoping it's a quick death.

They already had scouts to search for Kabuto. Of course, they didn't knew what happened to their scouts but they knew that they had assembled someone to go and look for Kabuto to stop the Edo Tensei. It just happened that Itachi was around.
