If you haven't caught on......the Juubi is the same thing as Mother Earth! Every fibre of its being is comprised by the same components that make up the planet itself! Trees, water......air. That is why it has an unlimited supply of Natural energy or Senjutsu chakra.
You must remember Kurama's words when it said that, the Juubi is the god of this world. The progenitor....meaning...the beginner of the entire world!
The Juubi isn't retarded or stupid. The reason it does not have any feelings, ideals or motives is because those....all of those, are traits of HUMAN NATURE!
The Juubi is the same as the planets orbiting the sun. It has no conscience, no good and especially no evil. In the Narutoverse, the Juubi simply...exists. As a singular entity, or as 9 tailed beasts.
The reason all the BIJUU have feelings of hatred or companionship with humans is because they were created through a human, The Sage of the Six Paths.
The Juubi cannot be destroyed, for if that were even possible, the Juubi's destruction would also mean the destruction of the entire world!
The reason the Juubi was split and it's body Chibaku Tensei'd inside the huge rock that is, the moon; was because the Sage was afraid of people just like Obito and Madara, who could have used its awesome power to lead the world to ruin!
That is because the Juubi can be moulded into anyone's colours! That is the reason Madara and Obito are connected to the Juubi.....to control it! That's why the first thing they did was jump on top of its head. Anyone can control it!
The only way to defeat the Juubi is to sever its connection with the two Uchihas. Kinda like when Naruto had to wake up Gaara to seal the Shukaku!
That is why the Sage never defeated the Juubi, he became its Jinchuuriki! He showed his super powers to the people and made an extremely war torn and brutish world his bitch; and taught it peace!
But that was peace through power! Peace through love was his original wish, which also sparked the conflict that led to...............the Curse of Hatred.
