Theres logic on both sides of this argument. On the one hand, yeah, I could see Sasuke using the Izanagi/Izanami right about now. He's seen BOTH of them in action (with his sharingan) so its only logical to assume that he now knows how to activate the jutsu.

The problem is, the other side of that argument: which is the after effects. If Sasuke used Izanagi/Izanami, what would it accomplish? He would escape death at that moment, but he'd loose an eye, which means he'd loose Susanoo and either the ability to summon or control Amaterasu. So even if Sasuke used Izanagi/Izanami, he'd be in an even worse state than he was to begin with and would soon die again anyway.

There isn't really an explanation if it can "cure" the negative side effects from Izanagi and Izanami

I don't believe Sasuke would sacrifice Itachi's eye like that. Not only would it take away from many of his powers but Sasuke cares deeply for Itachi, he wouldn't waste his eyes for something temporary like this. Even if EMS does somehow counter Izanami/Izanagi, Sasuke might not know that after seeing Itachi's eye get sealed. Plus, I think Sasuke will defeat Madara with the help of Hashirama's jutsu. The Izanagi/Izanami is definitely possible but I just don't think it'll happen man.

They say that the eyes of the young brother obtained eternal light by gaining the new host…and moreover some mutant, peculiar new ocular power was(/powers were) born into the eyes.

Ems and Izanagi/Izanami alike are considered to the be the "true power" of the uchiha clan. But you must be keen and agile to not miss the foreshadowing of the forthcoming Izanagi wars, brother.

Other than Sasuke conjecture when Itachi adds that casters of the jutsu in question will be deprived of their light, His personal observation of danzo spamming the glory off the technique indicates to him that Izanagi straps-in,( not out like your typical genjutsu.)

So it is undertandable he asked how to utilize Izanagi over kabuto ahead of Itachi's mention of Izanami, rather than how to activate it.

I think Senju DNA is a pretty principal thing for Itachi to omit when he went over both Izanami/Izanagi origins if it is indeed compulsory to set the Jutsu in motion, but goddamit
he didn't.

We just need more instances of its uses, Ideally from back in the day.
