[Discussion] It could be that pre final getsuga Ichigo twas actually subconsciously holding back.

1) His reiastu was more than twice that of Unohana's who was one of the strongest Captains. If we use A>B>C logic then Ichigo should have had no problem with Grimmjow and should have put up a better fight against Aizen.

2) He was the only person who could sense Aizen's reiastu when he had merged with the hyougoku. This implied that Ichigo was on a similar level at this point and had more reiastu than Yorouchi, Urahara and Isshin.


Aizen said his reiastu was twice that of a normal captain. However Ichigo's was twice that of Unohana's. Either Ichigo held back subconsciously or something else was up.

What you guys think?

I don't remember that Unohana said that Ichigo's reiatsu was twice than her, i remember that she said that he's reiatsu is twice of captain level.
Also Unohana was unreleased (not even shikai), but Ichigo was in bankai.

I don't think that in FKT he could beat Shinigami Aizen, i also don't think that he was stronger than captains like Isshin, Urahara, Yoruichi, Shinji, Kyoraku, Ukiatake or Gin, but i think that he was stronger than any espada in 1 vs 1 at that time.

He was definitely holding back.notice in the arrancar arc he's completely useless vs grimmjow but once he mastered his inner hollow he was able to match him in base with just tensa zangetsu
