His intangibility is not automatic. If it was then he wouldnt be able to get hit. Minato hit him with rasengan.

Yes it is, minato landed a hit because obito was attempting a warp & minato instantly teleported behind him, since obito cant activate automatic intangibility instantly he got hit.

Had intangibility been on then minato would've fallen through obito like every other shinobi.

obito only tries to suck himself up when hes trying to leave a battle. so its not really a hit against him, to not be able ot use it vs madara alone.
if anything he proved his actual phasing is faster than madara's attack so for anyone saying you can be faster than the time it takes him to phase is wrong.

obito was attempting to warp minato away. when he does this, we know he solidifies. so if minato were coming at obito from the front he would have passed through

I feel RTN that was written by Kishi....I believe it confirms that Itachi was superior to MS Obito. At least for me it did...as it shows Obito running from Itachi.

except thats dream land itachi and he could easily have been healthy/have different powers to "his" itachi. moreover didnt obito leave against team kakashi? doesnt make him weaker. he just left and said "ill fight you kids another time"

Its been confied that sasuke and itachi beats obito. Hell itachi even called him pathetic.

he didnt really take gai seriously and was fighting defensive at the time. konan he did crush. kakashi he did crush
