Sasuke was nerfed.
He was not able to attack and absorb simultaneously.
Amaterasu (Fire) + Chidori (Lightning) = Recipe for Incineration > Rasengan (Only Shape Manipulation).
It would have incinerated Naruto's arm.
Rasengan caused Chidori attack to backfire partially.
Sasuke could have absorbed the backfiring if it was not for the nerf.

Conclusion :-

If Sasuke was not nerfed, Naruto would have lost an arm/would have perhaps also sustained Major Damage.
Sasuke would be unharmed because of Preta Path absorbing backfiring.

Sasuke's lost arm is most likely a symbol of his ''sins'', or at least that's what I think he believes. I'm confident Sasuke purposely didn't receive a prosthetic because he thought living without a limb would serve as a rightful punishment.

His one missing arm changes almost nothing regarding his battle prowess. It's the same as Naruto - if he loses an arm, he can always use chakra arms or his Avatar's. Sasuke can just make a new arm with Asura or use Susano'o.

Both of their arms vanished, not just Sasuke's. And it was caused due to the Amaterasu Chidori attack. The Rasengan only backfired the attack the harm Sasuke as well. And I highly doubt something which incinerates both Naruto and Sasuke's arm is weak.
