Why can't Israel defend itself?
Ok, so here's what happened.
5 days ago, Hamas started to fire some 230mm Eagle rocket artillery on civilian areas of major cities of Israel, including Jerusalem. That itself is already an infraction of the Convention of Geneva's laws of war and the break of a truce that had been settled for some time before the inccident.
Now what did you expect Israel to do? Tell me, let's say a minor, rival, neighbooring nation starts shelling your cities, what would you do as a statesman? Say "oh I'm sorry, I obviously won't retaliate. Please, keep killing my people"? Because that's what people expect from Israel. The jewish state **obviously** retaliated, because Hamas attacked first.
24 hours later, Egyptian diplomats have asked for a cease-fire between Hamas, which is something like the Palestine army and Israeli Armed Forces. One of the beligerants accepted the peace treaty, the other didn't.

Guess who accepted and who denied the peace treaty?
Israel accepted the truce, but Hamas said it would not stop attacking Israel.
Now Israel has to defeat Hamas as it always do, but the problem is that the Palestine army is a GUERILLA.
Hamas is a GUERILLA. For being a guerilla, it has no soldiers, but rather, civilians carrying small arms! As a consequence of that, every time an Israeli soldier kills someone from Hamas, they're killing a civilian, and thats why there are so many ***s yelling "OMG holocaust OMG massaccre".
