first and foremost Kamui is an awesome tech for an antagonist such as obito

but to say Kakashi was better


Obito [pre-Juubi in this war arc]

1. Went Toe to Toe with Kyuubi Mode Naruto and Bee in his Chakra forms
2. Then went toe to toe with Naruto [BM, who was refreshed following the power up], and Bee in his tailed beast form]
3. Kakashi with his Kamui and Gai with his gates joined the fight, fought them also
4. Fighting while controlling the Gedo Mazo
5. CONTROLLING SEVEN JINCHUURIKI AND THEIR TAILED BEASTS WITH THE RINNEGAN CONSTANTLY
6. Summoned the Juubi
7. Alongside Madara took on the Alliance while in control of the Juubi's actions


By the time Kakashi and him fought, it was more of an even ground as Kakashi was powered up repeatedly by Naruto, and Obito had used a considerable amount of chakra, [not to mention Kamuing in that dimension meant he was exposed here which was dangerous]

Kishi made it so Kakashi had a chance

Obito would pretty much beat 99 % of the Naruto Verse

Obito will definitely over power most of the shinobis but Kishi didn't make it up like Kakashi had a chance.
If Obito was fighting for a long time & using rinnegan constantly then remember - Obito has been given a bulk of Senju DNA & rinnegan which was helping him to fight such a long battle.
Without Rinnegan or Senju DNA or any one of these, Obito would have exhausted himself before putting such a long fight.

Obito is eh. Sketchy but I wouldn't say he is the strongest without the 10 tails. He needs to take all that crap that is not his and claim he is strongest. :I
