I can't really understand why the consciousness of it remained with Naruto and not Minato.

Kurama is not in Minato - just his chakra. This makes it more accessible since there is not a living-thing restricting you using it. In addition, Minato cannot host the Kyubi - from what we've seen, only Uzumaki and Rikudo Sennin (Whether he is an Uzumaki or not is debatable) can host the Biju.
