That interview was back when madara was an edo. Back then edo madara seemed undefeatable with him soloing the gokagd. That was legit solo besides you aren't gonna tell your fans how the villain will be defeated.

The whole point with Kishi and Madaras character was that Madara was continuously evolving in strength.
