Manga has stated over and over Hashi is capable of stopping edo Madara.

but we know he cannot. because we dont know what he can do. madara wont know for sure unless hashirama tries. and we know madara can come back from anything unless hes sealed.

it just saying that hashirama chances of beating madara are greater than any other shinobi.

no it isnt. because madara does not know any other shinobi. only the people hes battled
