This is the problem with these threads people just pick their favourite character, itachi is above hokage level, he is on par if not as good as madara was, yet yondaime can suddenly beat him easily?

No, do remember itachi is the biggest genius in the series, and yondaimes main weapon everyone appears to be stating can beat itachi is flying thunder god technique, which is actually a relatively useless jutsu considering it requires kunais in the ground to teleport, where you can blatantly see them, also does it matter if yondaime can teleport around the place?

Itachi has yatas mirror (i keep explaining this) yatas mirror deflects all attacks, its impossibe to beat itachi, its just impossible, he is invincible, as zetsu stated when sasuke fought him.

The best anyone can do against itachi is draw.
