Considering it's had a crossover episode with One Piece which means Oda must like it, I would consider you giving it a shot. You also gotta like action, zany crap happening all the time and gourmet hunters.

No not by Oda, but a lot of fun. It never gets too serious. But *********** have dropped it and you have to rely on delayed updates by mangareader. It is definitely worth reading. No much episodes till now only 164.

It's good, though you have to get by the rabid Toriko fanboys. Oh, and I'll warn you that this series depends on the "-est" of things. Largest, tastiest, most dangerous, most poisonous ... everything depends on exaggeration, and the romance (if you're looking for it) is poorly done.

But it's a good series. Toei is doing a shit job of promoting it though, since they were making it look as if Toriko were the next One Piece, and looked ridiculous when it didn't take off like they'd hoped.

Toriko is pretty good its starts to get interesting at the 5 chapter and on its also funny and has great battles, oh yeah and kurogane its actually a good manga to it started a few chapters ago about 18 chapters its actually pretty good after chapter one

I say read before you watch, it's a matter of personal taste, but I always prefer reading before watching.

It is worth watching/reading, but don't expect your everyday shounen manga high school/romance/comedy/drama, this is a very creative series, much like OP in it's environment with exotic animals etc.(no sea kings tho'), except that in this manga/anime they go into depth about how it tastes and they actually hunt ingredients.
I think it's worth to watch/read because I'm still waiting for updates, what d'ya about that eh? ;D
