Is Toei just one of the most incompetent anime studios ever?

As in, they have so many failures in their history, from discarding the broadcast audio of the original DBZ show, to hiring a serial plagiarist for OST composition, to the travesty that is the Gaiking LODM TV version, and likely so much more.
Why are they plagued by negligent management despite their massive status as an anime studio, as well as the ones who had the most adapted shows before dubs came?

Are there any more examples I missed?

Could be that they're not actually incompetent. You don't cut corners for no reason. Most of their "errors" are probably just actions to save money.

Well between the first two things I mentioned like throwing away high quality broadcast audio masters like those for DB/Z and hiring Kenji "Every BGM I make is plagiarized" Yamamoto, there's a limit to corner cutting and to what kind of consequences can follow. You won't hear any other top established studio like Sunrise (that puts out so many different series yearly or even at the same time) or even Pierrot being asked for the original HQ audio for any of their series, and there's also no other franchise that has had to retract BGM's because all of it was copied off multiple different sources.

They are but that's only because of the people who come to them for adaptations of their already popular manga, and the fact that the masses eat their stuff up anyway. And in no way is any of those consequences worth it, they shouldn't ever have happened in the first place.
