Is Tobi an alter ego of Obito?

After watching this video, it struck me, tobi's characteristics resemble Obito's a lot.

Obito was generally known as a care free guy, coming up with excuses and what not.
I was wondering if Tobi is actually an "alter ego" of Obito. At least as to how we view him now.

It could just as well be the other way around, is the current Obito just an alter ego of Tobi, the actual Obito, or was being Tobi just a ruse after all in your opinion?

That seems logical, but does he do it voluntarily or not? Sometimes it just seems so easily done that I think it isn't just a ruse.

Its a bit of jackal and hyde dilemma but with controlled mind and purpose.

More like it's depicting Spiral Zetsu's personality.Obito was foolish during his genin years,but I really don't remember him acting like such a clown (no offense I actually liked Tobi's personality)

I think he did it for one of the reasons that I will list.

1. Zetsu Cells Influence
I think that it is plausible that Spiral or White Zetsu influenced his personality to act the way he did. Maybe Obito was having trouble controlling him - heck, it might've just been Sprial Zetsu with a mask.

2. Obito's Manipulation
We all know that Obito is a masterful manipulator. However, we see it most prominently when he influences Nagato and such. I have this idea that Obito acted such a way so that the Akatsuki "hunters" wouldn't think too highly of him and consider him a serious threat. This means they won't go straight at him and possibly kill him.

3. Kishimoto's Flaw
The last reasoning is that Kishimoto didn't decide who Tobi was going to be or if he would be relevant at all. Maybe he was thinking about just killing him off with his Senpai. That is my third or least desirable reasoning.

Edit: I saw another idea in the YouTube comment section. He was doing it to check if all was going well in the Akatsuki.

The nutty conspiracy theorist in me agrees. Alter ago is part of the identity of the illuminati puppets. Madara's vision is a representation of the new world order. And Obito is his mind control puppet.:devil:

Oh yea, I never really looked into the white zetsu part. Good catch really.
As for the "checking if akatsuki was doing their job", that seemed pretty logical to me ^^
