He's probably doing some good deeds to help Naruto and the village from the shadows, hence them working together. You don't need to physically see them working together for them to be doing so.

OT.so he has to be near naruto all the time for them to be "working together"? sasukes out doing his thing, working out a way outside while naruto does the same but in the inside as hokage. different methods of approach but with the same goal.

We cannot make too many assumptions yet, as we dont know what Sasuke is doing while he is out, and what Naruto has him doing. He could be out spreading peace, eliminating threats, getting a good glimpse of the world, all of these things help naruto, and the villiage. Lets wait until part 3 comes to make a descision on whether he is working together or not. I hope they do, they are indeed the best duo when they are working together.

He also said that he didn't want to have it explained in full detail in the actual manga, because he didn't want fans to think that that storyline was continuing. He said Sasuke is going around looking for clues as to what Kaguya really is, making sure another Kaguya doesn't happen, and things of that nature.

If he explained all that in the manga crazed fans would believe that he was going to expand on that, and create a new series

Since when exactly did proximity play as factor in working together? Do people from other villages have to be in Konoha or vice versa to work together for peace? Not every work factors in that aspect. It isn't about how close he is, it's the work that counts. Plus, that's only an individual opinion, not a fact. :|

They work together by taking care of the world from both sides of the coin. One takes care of it politically while the other takes care of it by making sure threats like Kaguya don't appear. You need both Naruto and Sauce to make the world a better place.
