Is this the limited significance of Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release ?

Orochimaru uses the Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release and revives the four hokage using Edo Tensei.They help Sasuke clear his doubts ,and join the fight against Madara where they get totally tanked (though they are now rushing towards the Kaguya vs naruto &sasuke fight).Was that all the Dead Demon Consuming Seal: Release technique was worth?To release the Hokage to help Sasuke and get them trashed in the fight?Or will Kishi will unveil some other revelation related to it ?

I really hope kishi doesn't belittle it by keeping it limited to the revival of kages.People have questioned Kaguya's resemblence to DG several times.Many say DG could be Kaguya's husband or Hamura.Somehow it must be related to the history of the Six paths family .
Who knows ,apart from the four hokage and Orochimaru's hand soul,it could have held the soul/souls of someone really badass ??

Maybe kaguya is part of the shinigami race? I mean if you read back at oro retrieving the shinigami's mask, There were a bunch of shinigami mask at the uzumaki temple. Hinting that there may be more than one DG....
