[Question] is this rep abuse

If I were to neg rep all the losers who complain about small grammatical errors would hat be rep abuse? I ask because kinda bugs me when instead of reply to the thread or reply to a point made about an argument they say oh your grammar is bad. In some cases I don't mind because the grammar is unreadable but when it is simply a small typo get over yourself and go outside and get a life. If all you have is point out small spelling mistakes on the net then that really sucks.

I'd have to say yes it is. Even people who do know and can speak English well don't use it properly half the time so I don't know why they complain so much. It's silly.

Yeah, that's rep abuse.

Other than that you can give any reason to neg rep somebody, but keep it clean.

Well it's actually a SPAM if I understand right, because it has nothing to do with the thread. But still I don't see a reason why to negative rep them. If they do that mods should actually react on that because it's a "SPAM" because it's something that does not belong in the thread.

It has to be in my opinion this is not an English forum nor is it English class or school or anything of the sort so pointing out spelling mistake just makes you look like an idiot in my opinion.

It's not if they posted JUST a correction. If they were on topic and made a correction, then neg repping them is a bit of an overreaction.

If they do nothing other than comment about grammar....then I'd say they are not contributing....

I sometimes correct grammar, but I mean I always answer the question on hand. If anything they should just make mental tabs on it....that's what I do most of the time: I let it slide!

So I guess a more direct answer....it wouldn't really be an abuse of REP if they do nothing more than correct grammar.

This I find is the case most of the time, they lost the argument so it's like ohhhhhhh you didnt capitalize the first word of your sentence

You can neg rep, or positively rep someone for any reason really. Theres been times that i get neg repped, because i neg repped someone, the fact that they neg rep back is rep abuse, especially since its for no reason, other then that.

Rep Abuse: While it is normal to give reputation to people who help you or have done something you found interesting for the forum, repeatedly asking for people to rep you or participate in games like "rep me and I will rep you" are considered "cheating" and are not allowed.
If negative reputation will be used by inappropriate reasons / spammed and reported. Administrators will take action.

Look at the last sentence.^

Only reasons for the rep system is for people who spam, bash, or troll.
