Is this really a funny thing?

I tell my mum everything that happens at school at she mainly wants to hear about the boys so i told her a conversation that went on with me and a dude in science class:

Me: Are you wearing afrer shave? (it really stunk in an alright smelling way i guess...)

Them: Yeah. Why does it smell nice?

Me: You kinda smell like my dad

Them: Ok so is that a good thing or a bad thing?

Me: It depends.

And she wouldnt stop laughing her head off she told my dad and he laughed as well. Is it really that funny?
