Is this proof that Hanzo was stronger than Jiraya??

I know it's a long time since this happened in the manga, but the other day it suddenly occurred to me:

Isn't this actually proof that prime Hanzo was stronger than Jman? Or at least than Jman considered him stronger than himself?

Jiraya was highly shocked to hear that Hanzo had been defeated and found it unbelievable that he was killed by a single person (Even though that person was the leader of the Akatsuki). If he didn't think that Hanzo could be taken down by a single person then that most also include himself.

He also claimed that even if Pain was an extremely strong shinobi he would still be no match for Hanzo.

In other words:

He said that Hanzo >>> Extremely strong

With all this I think it's safe to say, that he considered Hanzo a superior shinobi to himself and probably to most others as well.

But maybe he simply overestimate Hanzo?? On the other hand he had seen his strength at first hand, so he should know it's extent pretty well...

What are your thoughts guys?? You think this proof that Prime Hanzo was stronger than Jman

Well I think Jiraya is highly overrated himself. The other two senin are superior to him. Hanzo is hard to tell because his only fight was when the senin were young and not as strong. He was one of the edos who was trolled so we never saw his true power

We don't know that, all we know is that when they fought Hanzo they were youthful in appearance, seemingly in their early 30's.

The point is that this is the current Jiraiya. Despite his own power, he was unwilling to believe that someone had defeated Hanzo by themselves.

Also recall it is impossible to say whether or not they had their full powers... the only one we'd know for sure would be Orochimaru who did not have Edo Tensei.

But also keep in mind that Hanzo destroyed the Sannin... even if they weren't at their maximum potential, at that point in time they were one of the unstoppable forces when they were together... and not only did he wipe the mud with them (lol cause it rains in Ame), but he solo'd both them AND a whole platoon of Konoha shinobi without a single notable scratch.




OT: I wouldn't say it's an exact statement, but I'd say combining this with the fact that Edo Hanzo who had rusted away for years in seclusion was easily a fair match for Mifune, and probably could have won had he been unable to have the Sheer will power to defy Edo Tensei.

You 2 both miss the point and obviously hasn't read the thread.

My point is not that Hanzo beat them when they we're young, my point is that Jiraya though it was unbelievable that a single person could beat Hanzo, and that most likely includes himself.

So in other words, he still considered Hanzo stronger than himself even when he had SM and all that.

Shit gotta say this is true. An experienced jiraiya still thought it was impossible for Hanoi to lose. His expressions shows that he looked up to him.

It can be interpreted in two ways, The one most people take it as meaning Jiraya was in disbelief that any one man could defeat Hanzo alone, Though I personally don't believe that's what the scan meant...Considering that would mean that Jiraya is putting Hanzo above everyone he knows or knows of , including the likes of Minato and Madara..

2nd way to interpret is that he meant, he couldn't believe one man could accomplish the task of killing Hanzo alone... Note of the bolded, What I believe is meant by that is that Jiraya is in disbelief once person could defeat all of Hanzo's forces AND Hanzo himself alone... The guy he's getting the intelligence from even goes on to explain how heavily guarded Hanzo was

In context, this is what Jiraya is most likely refering to.. that's it seems impossible one sole man could defeat all hanzo's guards then defeat hanzo himself all alone.. Such a task , to Jiraya would need a platoon of extremely skilled shinobi..

Tsunade's Yin seal jutsus were actually new, even Orochimaru didn't know about them.
