Oro would try some shit like that. And I remember playing as the Akatsuki and recruiting their members.

Founding members were Pein and Konan. With Obito and Zetsu joining to stay close to Madara's Rinnegan and use Nagato for their own aims.

Itachi and Kisama joined because of Obito.

Konan recruited Sasori.

Pein recruited Kakuzu.

Oro asked to join after fighting Sasori and Pein.

Hidan was recruited by Kakuzu and Oro.

Kabuto was a spy for Danzo, but had a genjutsu placed on him by Sasori, so he would spy for him as well. Oro removed the genjutsu after Kabuto killed his adoptive mother, under Danzo's orders.

Deidara was recruited by Itachi and Kisame, after Oro left the group.


Makes me nostalgic for early Part 2 Naruto. Diverse villains, with diverse powers and jutsus and diverse personalities and end goals. Before everything was literally made all about the Uchiha.


SMH, that Kishi didn't think to flesh out or go into how each Akatsuki member team fought every Jinchurki and biju for extraction.
