Now we learn black zetsu is Kaguya. Putting aside my other complaint for the moment (that supposedly Madara had absorbed Kaguya) are we now to assume obito was strong enough to go toe to toe with Kaguya for so long?

And I just countered it with manga facts .

Obito wasn't it control , it was Black Zetsu who stabbed Madara , meaning indirectly Kaguya killed him .

Correct, but now Kishi has overridden that in this chapter. Next week, BZ will be hagaromo's brother for all we know.

That is part of the a$$pull IMO. I am sure the guy is going somewhere with it, but the last several chapters seem rushed and this latest development seems inconsistent to previous chapters. It would help if Kish would slow down and fill some of the holes that he has created recently.

it's not really an ass-pull since Madara BELIEVED BZ was made from his will except it was made from the gedo mazo rod so it is quite understandable to Kaguya's will

Sorry OP but you are wrong.

First, Kaguya's soul was trapped inside God Tree so Black Zetsu couldn't do too much on his own
Second, It was Kaguya will which wake up and immobilized Madara allowing Black Zetsu to pierce him and connecting with her spirit make Madara's body transforming in her own body most likely.
