Is this all part of Madara's plan?

Madara has absolutely no emotional reaction to this. He just says "I failed..." and smiles. What is the story with Madara, what is he after?

Good point. I think none of the good guys really interest Madara at this point. He probably sees them as insignificant insects.

Madara may have another plan but I don't think that's he case, The only reason he was going to sacrifice Tobi was because he was dying, he had to to carry out the plan now that Obito survived and is able to do so himself I doubt it matters in the end they both get what they want and it also works in Madara's favour as he now gets to fight Hashirama withought the Juubi's power

Madara probably already has enough power to take out Hashirama and the alliance on his own. The Juubi's power in Madara's hands would have made the character absurdly overpowered.
