Is this a coincidence or Naruto copied Hunter X Hunter?

I just finished watching Hunter X Hunter (2011) and yeah is one of the best series ever and I noticed so many similarities with Naruto.

Kurapika who comes from the Kuruta clan, however he is the last survivor because his clan was massacred. He lives for revenge even if it would cost him his own life. The Kurta clan has a special ability called "Scarlet Eyes" their eyes turn red (similar to sasuke)
Yeah that seems to be too similar. Kishi may've been paying homage there but you are right Sasuke must've been based on Kurapika a bit.

- The main protagonist Gon has a father who is basically a legendary Hunter (Minato was also considered legendary.)
That's typical shonen stuff and it's common in other anime. WOuldn't say Kishi copied there.

- Gon best friend Killua is a prodigy and very skilled, he is similar to Gon but with a more dark attitude, Killua's Nen type is electricity. (similar to Sasuke's lightning)
I'd say Sasuke is more like Kurapika. The only big similarities between Sasuke and Killua are lightning ability and MC's rival. Lightning's a pretty common and used power in manga/animes.

-
The concept of special moves are quite similar, Nen requires chi, while Jutsus require chakra.
pretty sure this was a thing long before HxH and Naruto. The 2 mangakas may've been paying homage to toriyama.

- Gon is considered special by everyone throughout the anime by his ability to change people and make people believe in him. (It's the same thing with Naruto.)
Nah, don't think kishi would've copied that. Seems like a thing a lot of authors would've gave their MC.

- Gons fighting style is more of a hand to hand fighting, while he gets beat up all the time he never gives up.
nah don't think kishi copied that either.

- The Phatom Brigade is a band of extremely powerful criminals, similar to Akatsuki. The leader of Phantom Brigade Chrollo Lucifer has a special nen ability to copy and use any Nen ability no matter what type of Nen it is. The leader of Akatsuki has the special rinnegan which lets him have complete mastery over all types of chakra element.
Evil elite organizations are also a common thing to have. Chrollo's and Nagato's abilities aren't even that similar. Other than both have potential to access all the components of their respective universe's power source thing.

- Gon and his friends enter the hunter exam to become hunters, which is quite similar to the chuunin exams: there are different parts to the hunter exam, each having their own special Hunter examiner.
A rigious exam type thing to obtain a title doesn't seem like something Kishi would copy. I'm sure that's a common thing an author would use to create a quick beginning arc.
-In the hunter exam there was a swamp part where the hunter examinees survive going through a swamp, some of the examinees died there. (similar to the "Forest of Death" part of the Chuunin Exams)
Deadly forests isn't something I'd think Kishi would copy either.

- The last part of the hunter exams had the examines face each other in one on one matches. (similar to the preliminary matches of chuunin exams)
Tournament type tests are a common trope. If an author wants a way to pit character against character what easier way to do it.
- Hisoka is a creepy guy with a weird voice who is extremely powerful. He joins the hunter exams just to scout for kids who have potential (Orochimaru joins the chuunin exams and scouts Sasuke)

- Hisoka is part of the Phantom Brigade, but has always had his own secret agenda, and eventually leaves the Phantom Brigade. (Orochimaru was part of Akatsuki, and also leaves)
There may be some inspiration there but it stops at being creepy and involved in organization.
