I'm not fond of Naruto as a character. He and Sasuke piss me off when they're each fed more and more powerups advancing them to being the strongest people in the narutoverse after only 4 years of being ninjas.... but he is the main character and his survival is necessary to progress the story so I can't say I don't root for him sometimes.

I wasn't too fond of him at first. In Part 1 he was the most annoying character to me, second to the one and only Sakura.

However, both of them grew on me in Part 2.

well, personally naruto is my favourite character, but imo it's a great thing that in this series naruto doesn't necessarily have to be the favourite of everyone. it only means that kishi does a great job with other characters. he's given several characters a character and development worthy of a protagonist and that has to be commended.
