Even if all this was true, it doesn't fit what we see in the series. Spiral Zetsu covers hair when someone is wearing It, but the spiral mask doesn't cover his hair, so he cant have been wearing Spiral Zetsu at the time.

There, contrary to my general opinion of Tobidara theory, Is an argument for a Zetsu, transformed into obito (You know, that thing Zetsu's can do), acting crazy to help the disguise. meanwhile Obito does his own thing, and only starts acting like Tobi when he wants to observe something important, but not be suspected.


There, a theory that makes more sense than Spiral possesing Obito, done in under a paragraph.

actually there are no such facts that support his behaviour. One can only assume that he tried to mimic spiral zetsu's goofy personality to throw of the others....you can compare it to Naruto's prankster personality which he adopted to deal with the hatred of the villagers to attract attention. I will say the psychology was the same they both tried to be the opposite of what they actually were. Obito had suffered severe trauma and thus he came close to being a nihilist as opposed to he was in actual kind and caring. So his goofy personality to actually deal with his internal turmoil

of course obito need to cover up himself with a different persona when he is wearing that mask with a single hole and the whirl pattern which already draws unnecessary attention so he is mimicking spiral zetsu so that all akatsuki don't recognize or suspect him, take him for someone who is a weirdo and a clown.
