Is there a reason why the gold and silver brothers have whiskers like naruto?

Naruto doesn't have natural whiskers like a cat, dog or fox, which is made up of hair.
Naruto's are just markings made by blade, probably done by Hiruzen to identify Naruto as the demon Fox's host

I think naruto had the whiskers before he got kuramas chakura . The story hasnt revealed why he has whiskers yet.
