The Shinju gives divine power and was worshipped by the people while both it and Hagoromo were stated to have forged the world with their powers. I suppose they are gods in the grand scheme of things. The Shinju is a reference to the world tree/tree of knowledge in countless cultures and mythologies as well s modern literary works. Nordic, Siberian, Meso American, Christianity, Buddhism, etc. A tree that acts as a pillar between heaven and earth with several divine powers and meanings. It's as fabled as the arc of the covenant, noah's arc, the holy grail, atlantis, el dorado and shang gri la.
