[Debate] Is the world better without technology?

Not really. Things would be extremely worse without technology, and many people would die.

No. We would die because of uncountable diseases that are easy to handle with medicine and we would probably still worship a solar eclipse, earthquakes, droughts etc. as something "god-related". Technology was and is a key factor for science and without science, we would be completely lost and die out very fast.

We lived without advanced tech for 100,000 years humanity through its knowledge survied 998000 of thouse without the weapons and medicine so i say we are well on our way to better things

Technology makes our lives infinitely more convenient so we can focus on things other the basic necessities.

It also allows us to make bigger choices meaning larger consequences for our actions as well.

I'm still waiting for the obligatory comments about science decreasing need for religion.

OT: It's all relative. People make due with what they have in the time they inhabit this Earth. Ultimately people still experience life with all it's struggles and rewards, and eventually die. People simply started life at an earlier age to compensate for the low life expectancy. It has been nice to be as old as I am and to have seen technology sky-rocket in such a short amount of time. That said I still think it is more important for kids to stay connected to nature than to computers.

Better in the sense that we would exercise more, pay more attention to real life, be more social, rely on older ways etc.

Well if that's the case, i would likely be creating new technologies myself .

Better in what way? It would be the same as it is now, why? Because of standards. When you don't know anything but comfort anything more or less is special. When you don't know anything about living with technology it's the same as being born with technology around you as it's the norm or the standard. If it all goes well now, in 100 years people will look back and say "how did people in 2016 live like that" while we think it's fine.

It wouldn't be simpler at all w/o technology. It'd be more bare-bones, basic, and natural (and even then, you can argue against that last one) w/o technology, but life would be more difficult for us humans.
