Care to explain why his descendant's surname is Montblanc then?
Because Montblanc is the family name?

Except his name is already Montblanc Noland? It's pretty unlikely Oda will have him combine his middle initial with his surname then swap them as opposed to, I don't know, just being Montblanc D. Noland who kept the D. a secret like Law did?
I already said it isn't impossble for it to be an alias like Gold Roger. Your suggestion is also possible though.

The surname comes first in One Piece, therefore it is impossible for Noland to come first in his full name since we know Montblanc is the surname.

I don't think you understand. The D. initial is always between the surname and first name. It can't be Nolan D. because that's not in the middle.
You can do whatever you like for an alias

The surname comes first in One Piece, therefore it is impossible for Noland to come first in his full name since we know Montblanc is the surname.
Ah, just realized XD

He can still hide the D. in his name though, like Law did
