I didn't know that. Damn. Kishi was smart to have them fight right after kaguya while Sasuke is still getting used to his power. Otherwise, he will have to do so many nerfing for sasuke or asspull for Naruto to tie the battle later on.

Chidori is a blade-like, piercing and instant assassination technique. Its spear - a weaker form - cut Hachibi's tails like butter. When it uses them to guard itself and it created a large whirlpool with them as well. That shows how precise and deadly it is. According to Kisame, a mastered concentrated Raiton is far more advanced and has more penetration power than a Futon.
Chidori also has many variants. Whereas Rasangan is an incomplete technique. It is also rotatory in nature and expands outwards from the strike point. The damage can be easily minimized by medic-nins. So yes, Chidori is better, much better in every aspect.
