Is the new Naruto movie gonna be canon?

I always here people say it's gonna be canon yet I don't know where they get that from. I know Kishimoto is working on it but he worked on Road To Ninja as well. In the trailer for the movie, it showed Naruto talking to Hinata when they were young during the winter yet this obviously didn't happen in the manga. So, how do you guys know it's canon?

The trailer says that it connects with the original story. Take from that what you will. It makes sense for it to be canon though.

Damn, the plot seems interesting, besides the scarf crap. I would be looking forward to it if the character designs were better though.
