Kishi could be hinting at Madara's defeat. He also said she was consumed by power. Did it became too much for her, they were release, and she trapped inside her own power.

In fact, looking at the Sage and his brother fight it, I think it would be AWSOME if it's Naruto/Sasuke doing the same thing. They fight, they win, the Bhijuus are restored and Naruto/Sasuke have their final fight.
