Is the Moon eye plan just a normal genjutsu?

I know the moon eye plan is suppose to trap everyone in genjutsu but is it a almighty genjutsu because the moon is involved or is it just a area covering genjutsu because if thats the case then people should be able to escape what do you think

What if the So6P anticipated someone attempting to use the Juubi's shell for something (not necessarily a genjutsu or anything like that) and put measures in place to completely thwart the use of the Gedo Mazo?
