Is the Fire Daimyo more powerful than the Hokage politically and socially in the Land of Fire? I understand all authority comes from him including appointment of Hokage, could he terminate a Hokage's tenure if he so wishes?

The hokage is in charge of the leaf village, the daimyo is in charge of the land of fire and every town in it

i believe they are equal in terms of political power.. its like the Monarch and the Prime Minister.. a Daimyo can nominate a person to become a kage, but the aproval of the jonin council is needed to make the appointment official.. that is the same reason why Danzo is never truly become the 6th Hokage..

The Daimyo is more important than the Hokage. It's like the Daimyo is the president and the Hokage is the general of the army.

let's just put it in real life context..

let's say, the countries of Fire, Earth, Wind, Lightning and Water are the 5 most powerful kingdoms in our reality, (Spain, France, Great Britain, the Holy Roman Empire and the Papal States).. the Fire Daimyo is equal to that of the King of Spain.. he governs the land and its laws, its economy and its people.. basicaly, he's king.. now, the Hokage is equal to the Prime Minister or Minister of Defense which holds and governs the country's military strength.. now, the position of daimyo may be hereditary or something, but the position of kage is appointed.. now, the daimyo may appoint or nominate someone he likes to be hokage, but it is still the choice of the Jonin Council whether that position would be official..

in context, they are equal, but in reality, the Hokage was more power.. the Fire Daimyo may be the one who pays and finance the Hidden Village, but the entire system and politics of the Hidden Village is under the Hokage's control.. in short, the Fire Daimyo rules the Land of Fire, but the Hokage rules Konoha, and Konoha is the military strength of the Fire Country.. it would be relatively easy for the Hokage to use the military power she controls to take control of the entire Fire Country and let the Fire daimyo rule akin to a puppet ruler.. He/She who controls the country's military force wields the greatest power.. remember what happened to Russia? it was easy for Vladimir Lenin to overthrow Czar Nicholas II..

Well, you do need to remember that Tobirama made Hiruzen the Hokage without the Fire Daimyo's involvement.

So Tobirama > Fire Daimyo at that point of time.

I doubt that they could remove the Hokage from power. I mean, Yagura was the Yondaime Mizukage and was doing the bloodline purges, weakening Kirigakure's military prowess, yet the Daimyo for that country hasn't been shown to do anything.

Its like corporations controlling leaders. The corporations are pretty useless people who care about themselves, but, because they have a title and money, they say what happens and what doesn't.

Lets hope Naruto tells them to take a hike.

Lord Daimyo is the like politic, who govern the Fire Country.
Hokage is the Military Chief, just like General.
Hokage (Military Chief) is appointed and approved by the Lord Daimyo and the Adviser, Ministers.
Hidden Leaf Village - Konoha was restricted zone. And hidden from outsider. There were guards /ninja at the entrance to monitor people going in and out. The reports of incidents were then submitted to the Hokage.
(In the Part 2 - opening, notice that Sakura had to go to the guards to get the report, and was told Sakura that Naruto had returned.)
Just like Military base. Training of ninja.
It being stated that there were powerful Shinobi protecting the Lord Daimyo.

Example, when Tsunade was in coma, the appointment in progress, one of the Elder wanted to say something, but the other Elder indicated that they should not interfere Lord Daimyo and the Advisers, Ministers were discussing.

The word "Hidden Leaf Village" means that the Left Village is hidden from outsider, because it was like a Military base.
"Leaf" means trees and leaf. .............................

Edit:
The 4th War issue. All the 5 Lords approval were needed.............
