Madara was only hurt by it because he wanted it, the gate users are pretty "stupid" in terms of strategy . Though gate users can still warp the atmosphere so ftg that isn't preset can be disturbed

Eight gates guy all day I don't think Minato can track his movements. Madara ate Minato for breakfast. Guy made it a real fight.

I would say flying thunder god because you can just teleport away and wait before Might finish his transformation to the 8th gate and run out of chakra.
