Scarlet Spring wasn't trash and neither is Boruto or Sarada. Boruto is a lot like his father in that he has a strong moral compass and doesn't look down on others; it's fun to see him maturing emotionally and that brings a lot of other potential routes. Sarada is an exceptionally talented kunoichi and is already quite capable; unusual for a kunoichi so young in the series.
As for the Boruto series, it plods along at its own pace. I'm not into this ninja tech greatly, and believe the only sensible invention was the one that Kishimoto himself imagined; the Kote. The rest has been inefficient, clunky junk that has no business even existing, since anyone with chakra can learn jutsu to create the same effects. The new world and the monthly releases are quite jarring still, but I'm happily going along with the ride.
