You can call me ignorant all you want but I'll only care when you explain why this are not contradictions

I don't hold all the answers, bud. Just because I'm a Christian and halfway intelligent doesn't mean I'm God. That's why I am personally telling YOU to go look it up. If you want answers so badly, find them yourself. Friggin' invalid.

Maybe you should actually try reading the Bible first

This thread should have never started.

True, people just love taking the chance to bash religion since they could not apparently handle the rules in them themselves. So instead they badmouth what people believe in because they could not finish it themselves.

Let me guess only the people with faith can understand...

Ok, now chill. Leave people to believe what they want to believe. They can use as much points as they want because it is their faith, not yours, and are willing to leave the thread with no change whatsoever or keep debating til you get bored.

It is what makes others' happy, no one said you had to believe in the same things they do.

I have no intention of another pointless debate so I'll just leave this msg here. There are contradictions in the Bible, and there are historical inaccuracies. (And yes, I've read the Bible several times, for over a decade, so don't even bring that up.) Its authors are still debated, in any case, it was compiled, therefore no wonder if it looks that many of the books are in sync.

Nah, anyone can understand. It just takes a wee bit of intelligence and insight. Care to try?

Reading the Bible, even several times, doesn't mean you understand everything in the Bible. It doesn't hurt to buy a study Bible, or even Google things, to find an answer to your supposed problem.

I feel like I'm saying the same thing over and over again.

I've read several books about the Bible, and its historical environment. I also googled several things. I was also part of a Bible study group. Again, don't act all so smart. I'm pretty sure I've researched more than you- but I don't want to use assumptions as arguments, as you do. Have a nice day.

I'm not trying to act all smart. I guess it comes naturally ('tis a joke). I'm giving a suggestion to help a common person understand something they most likely don't understand. How am I to know you're a biblical expert and that you (supposedly, of course) know more than me? Answer: I can't, so please cease the attitude. Thanks.

Those who truly have studied the Bible found it apparent to be false and either looked for another religion or became atheists.

Just as you claiming here we are bashing religion ;]

(Mods please don't close down this thread. Close it in 2 days please, thank you)

So anywho, the thread is to debate about the credibility of the bible as a main scripture.

In my opinion the Bible holds 0 credibility, when compared to other religions who have a main scripture. Why? Due to the simple fact it wasn't written by Christianity's main prophet.. Yeshua aka Jesus. Bible was written by his followers, and as we all know something written by the followers will have a change of things and will simply be the interpetation of their own, regarding what jesus said. So because of that mere fact, to me the Bible holds no credibility, when people say "bible is what jesus said" or "bible is the right way"..

Furthermore, its not even read in its original language, as we all know translations can't be done 100% accurate, and that some feelings and expressions are lost in the translations.

So now i ask you, in your opinion does the bible hold any credibility?

You're totally right.

Credibility against other religion, no. No religion is more "credible" than another, simply for the fact not everyone is that religion. I can't force someone to believe (although I think it's possible but that seems extremely far fetched). However it is credible for Christians.

The thread isn't about whether Quran is more credible or whether the Torah is more credible..

Its about the Bible being credible or not , solely regards to christianity.. this is not comparing christianity to other religions.

You're totally right.

So i say you have 0 credibility = i'm abshing you?

I stated my opinion. My opinion is what i believe. So you telling me something of opposite, would mean you are bashing me? oh really?

Bashing: verbal abuse, as of a group or a nation:

abuse: se (something) to bad effect or for a bad purpose; misuse.
treat (a person or an animal) with cruelty or violence, especially regularly or repeatedly.
the improper use of something.

So please do show me this "verbal abuse" that i have done.

AGain, stop throwing around words to try to act like a smartass, if you do not want to discuss , simply don't. No one in here is telling people to believe so and so .

Have an open mind.. hell for all i care you can debate about my beliefs.. and you won't me hearing say "ohhh why are you bashing my beliefs".... come on now.

False, not the point of the thread. THere are many christians who also question the credibility of the bible.

The argument, whether the bible is credible for the religion itself, not for others. Christians = followers of christ, Bible =/= Christ. << that is why in my opinion its not credible.

Sense: conscious awareness or rationality

^^ I'm making plenty of sense.

Notice the post has nothing to do with you being religious, but only questions your claim of me bashing the religion, while we are only discussing it.
