I'm thinking of buying Tales of Symphonia Chronicles to catch up on the series, But I need opinions before I do that.

I watched some gameplay and checked out the trailer and it looks pretty amazing.

Plus I have a few 30-something dollars to spare. :yay:

So, opinions please. :)

I would say get it if you are like me and are a huge Tales of fan. They completely remastered both games in HD and also added in a few extra stuff to both Symphonia and Dawn of the New World. It's worth the money.

I looked Tales of Xillia and I really liked it. I have Tales of Phantasia on my iPad aswell, so I guess I played a Tales of game before. I'm still hung up if I should get Tales of Xillia before Tales of Symphonia though. :/

But yeah, Tales games seem really fun. :yay:

Nice. I have all the Tales of games. :p

Symphonia or Xillia, huh? That's a bit of a toughy...Well none of the Tales of games really connect with on another besides Symphonia/Dawn of the New World, and Xillia/Xillia 2 so it wouldn't matter which one you get first. But if you want two games in one then go with Symphonia Chronicles. If you plan on playing Xillia 2 which comes out in 3 weeks then I would get Xillia. It's really up to you which one you want to get first. Either way you will have a lot of fun no matter which one you choose first. ^_^

Symphonia is good. It was great for its time.

Tales of The Abyss, and Xillia are better games, but only better just a bit. I think those games have better character development than the others.

Thanks again, I'll give it a definite look tomorrow. I was thinking that if they don't have Symphonia, I would buy Xillia as a back-up plan. So yeah, it's good to know they're both good either way.

Thanks. ^^

Yeah I heard Abyss was pretty good, I have a 3DS, so if Symphonia OR Xillia aren't there, I'll give Abyss a try aswell. ^^

Since you are going to get it here is a little heads up. In the remake of Symphonia you might find a few errors in the game that were made when they were remaking it for the PS3. Nothing big or anything just some few errors in the dialogue like a few letters missing and such, so don't go thinking you bought a bad disc or whatnot when you encounter these in your play-through. And these small errors are only in Symphonia not Dawn of the New World, at least not that I know of from playing it.

Alright, I'll make sure of that.

Quick question though, Is there a way to play the game with Japanese voices?

I don't really like the english ones. :/

The english voice actors aren't that bad, but meh everyone has their opinions. Anyways, yes, the game has dual audio so you will be able to play with both english and japanese voices.

I like the english voices to an extent, but nothing beats the seiyuu's. xD

Yeah, opinion matters I guess, I won't go to say that the english voices are so bad that I need to mute the whole sound. :)

Oh yea Vesperia was alright..I think it had the best graphics of all tales games, but honestly, it felt like a "filler" tales game. Like the story was kind of 'whatever" to me.

I dunno, it just had that "filler" feel to it.

Was it the 360 version you played or the ps3 import? Cause the two are very different.

I just bought Chronicles and I'm pretty satisfied with it. The only thing I dislike is the fighting mechanism.

For example, when you press X it just does a few strikes and you need to make a combo with it in order for it to inflict damage on the enemy. It would be better if it was a longer combo. Other than that, I'm enjoying it alot so far. :yay:

Later on in the game you will start finding certain gems that you can place onto the characters to give them new abilities like increase the number of strikes in a combo and such, so you will get your bigger combos that you are wishing for. U_U Only thing I really dislike about Symphonia is the no Free Run mode. Makes things a lot more difficult in battle especially if you are playing multiplayer.
