Most religions say yes, but I can't comment considering I don't know your faith.

i mean why would even someone want to kill himself if he's fine and happy with his life, i don't think this is how it works.

If you kill yourself its a sin however if you are crazy you wont be punished since you arent in the right state of mind. Me for example if it wasnt a sin to kill myself i think i would of done it but since it is i cant do it and im serious

Depends n your culture. Suicide is a sin in Christian culture. Japanese culture it's a thing you do when you've been dishonor rd beyond redemption for example.

For those using the logic of "would God want us to suffer", that's not how religions work. Otherwise, you can argue God would want us to be happy and do/believe in whatever the hell we want.

It's a sin to people who believe in religion.
But other than that, no. It's not.
People have the right to end their own life if they want to, as long as they don't take other peoples lives too, like suicide-bombers or wrong-way drivers who crash into other cars to kill themselves.

To be honest, I'd do it, if I got incurable cancer. Suicide is way more bearable than getting your whole body slowly destroyed with a lot of pain by chemotherapy and the illness itself.

Good question. Lets see how the Atheist answer this.
This comment makes no sense. It's not a trick question. If you're asking if something is a sin, you have to be look at it from a theist's/religious person's perspective and play, pun fully intended, Devil's Advocate. I'm an atheist and I can answer this easily.

The answer is yes. Murder is a sin because it's taking a life, heavy on the word taking. Because man is not the original giver of life, it's the equivalent of stealing from God, as all life come from and through him and his son. That includes your life. Sure, it's your life, but it ultimately came from and is through God, so you are not permitted to take it, or any life, unless it's something like self defense. This is why God can commit as many murders as he has and still be holy.

Economically, no.

According to the bible, yes.

Logically, no.

Does God want us to suffer through all the elderly ailments for +20years? What's the purpose in that? Thanks for my life and all but I'll pass on the cancer & chemotherapy. Tnx.

In exchange for literally eternity of happiness? Yeah. He does. There's no reason for a higher power to put us here just to not care when we leave.

Why wouldn't "God" just have us live in Heaven? Why put people on Earth at all if they could choose to move on at any point?

No one person or god can tell you its a sin morally or religiously if you yourself, created by this god, were given free will.
Suicide is just another exercise of free will.

And if your crazy would that really make a difference?
you were subject to your creators plans that made you crazy.
If you want to kill yourself because youre crazy then its okay because its the gods fault your nuts?

Lol. Yes they can. They gave you life, they can tell you how to use it.

Without free will there's no need for Heaven and Hell. So go ahead, kill yourself. Break the rules. Then accept the consequences.

Do you think a person will be able to still move onto a better place if they end their lives themself?

If you believe?
Just speaking for a Christian perspective. To my knowledge (as a Christian) you are not guaranteed auto-hell, but it is a sin.I've heard it was called the "ultimate sin" (this is false); however, it stems from the fact that it is the only "unforgivable sin". It's unforgivable because you can't ask God for forgiveness after you kill yourself. So you aren't guaranteed hell, but that's your last act on earth, and again you won't be able to repent for it.

Just in case if you know anybody who is about to commit suicide (or its yourself). Plz talk them out of it(rethink it).

Suicide is not a sin. It is due to clogging of mind which releases them from the ultimate fear of death. This is coz of huge emption in human being. Some animal (snake and other maybe) have been found attempting suicide. This is due to overflow of emotion. No one can blame anyone who kills himself. What life has to offer? nothing. If they dont want to live, its upto them. And who are we to blame? What is justice to blame them?

There's no reason for a higher power to put us here full stop, really. All those years of dragged out torture are a result of modern technology/medicine anyway.

You should ask God yourself. According to the bible. Earth was basically another Heaven until the first sin.

I can't comment from the Christain, Jewish, Hindu, etc perspective but from the Islamic perspective it's a sin and you go to hell for eternity and the punishment you face is the way you killed yourself for all eternity.
