Is Shisui Uchiha Really Dead?

I just want to have a doubt cleared up, is Shisui Uchiha really dead? I know that the manga stated that Itachi killed him to gain the Mangekyo, but then he reveals that he really didn't kill Shisui and that Shisui gave Itachi his one remaining Mangekyo eye to prevent Danzo from attaining his Kotoamatsukami and erased all traces of his existence. The wiki also states that 'no corpse was ever found'.
So, is he really dead?

His corpse was never found which is sketchy. Most likely, Tobi has his corpse. He does have all 151 Sharingan.

Meh, going blind and wandering around doesn't sound too far-fetched to me....and we know that eyes (both Sharingan and non) weren't exactly in short supply from what we've seen of Tobi's collection.
