The Rinnegan is related to the Byakugan therefore can't be de-activated like the Byakugan. And he can de-activate his tomoe essentially proving your claim to be wrong.

Tomoe = EMS/Rinnegan full power, he can de-activate that proving he has control over the level of power his eye exerts. However Rinnegan can't be de-activated, so regardless of how much power he can reduce , his eye will never go back to normal because it's like a Byakugan, it's permanent.

I'd like to think so, but so far we've only witnessed that he can't deactivate his Rinnegan and he uses his fringe in a similiar fashion to Kakashi's headband, and that he only has one dotted Rinnegan rather than the conventional dual Rinnegans. These characteristics only show that it isn't his and Hagoromo gifted to him; I haven't come across anything that proves it's his.​

2. He only has 1 rinnegan eye because tomoe eyes that are on the level of rinnegan or higher only come with one eye! Notice that Madara and Kaguya also only had 1 rinne sharingan. Other than base sharingan, tomoe = 1 eye with power that is greater than or equal to that of 2 non-tomoed eyes!

3. Hagoromo has a dual rinnegan!

4. We actually saw the process of Hagoromo giving Naruto and Sasuke the gifts, so then you should already know that Sasuke awakened it after receiving said chakara!

5. For the record, Madara has not been seeing deactivating his rinnegan either!

I am sorry to sound irritated, but I kind of am! Questions like this and "Is Boruto canon?" shouldn't even be questions. They should be obvious!

Itachi can't awaken rinnegan because he's not Indra's reincarnate :lol. It's Sasuke's rinnegan and Sasuke's EMS because he awoken that too. Notice I say awaken and not transplanted directly.

He may not have naturally awakened it at the end of his life like Madara, but the fact that his "special" Indra chakra was able to call Hagoromo into being which in turn led to his awakening of the Rinnegan was a special circumstance due to dire and impending doom upon all the world.

Sasuke, As does Naruto, gets a pass on this. The Rinnegan is his. Hagoromo wouldn't have been able to gift him with it without already having the chakra to summon him in the 1st place.

Nagato is a completely different case. He is an Uzumaki and the eyes in his sockets were already unlocked by Madara. Hagoromo didn't take a rinnegan from his own socket and transplant it into Sasuke. He simply awakened something that was already in his genetic makeup.

There's a big difference there.

How do you know only transplants show aforementioned characteristic? In between panels Hagoromo could have done an implant or something else.​

Read my thread, and it is not Hagoromo's Rinnegan because it manifests in one eye with six tomoe. It is a hybrid of Kaguya's third eye and Hagoromo's Rinnegan, therefore it is his individual Rinnegan.

I'm pretty sure once you awakened Rinnegan you can't disable it. That's why now he has this haircut covering his left eye to not attract unwanted attention while traveling over the world. I don't know why did they deactivate it in the movie tho. Also I think that's why Sasuke awakened Rinnegan only in left eye since Sharingan is one of the icons of this Manga and Sasuke for the some time were considered to be the last living Uchiha he had to keep his sharingan atleast in one eye. Like come on... one of the main characters in this manga from Uchiha clan without sharingan?

Itachi wanted Sasuke to take his eyes. That means its a gift, therefore technically belonging to Sasuke. They may have even been genetically altered to Sasuke's body, but that's only a theory.
