Is Sasuke really as skilled as we're led to believe?

This is something I've wondered for a good while. After seeing countless conclusive threads about Naruto vs Sasuke, the realization that Sasuke is hardly special in skill alone struck me. We have Naruto, who members like to say is mostly raw strength, combating Sasuke on equal terms. Why is it that Sasuke dropped down to nigh chakraless Naruto's level the moment his sharingan deactivated?

His fancy movement and everything disappeared once his sharingan faded. It's no mystery that the sharingan helps him, but the extent it does seems quite ridiculous. Given that Naruto himself hasn't shown amazing use of technical taijutsu, can is be assumed that Sasuke's taijutsu alone isn't amazing either?

Next is chakra control in general. I know a lot of guys think Sasuke's set on this one, and I honestly can't say the same. We have proof that Sasuke needs his Sharingan to perform things Naruto would consider elementary.

Of course that doesn't mean Sasuke sucks, because Naruto is probably the best with chakra control and ninjutsu. Just not on the level we thought. Everything else is just him manipulating Amateratsu or basic shape changes to Chidori.. aside from his only relevant "Hagoromo level" merging.

Given that I've already ragged on Sasuke's skills heavily relying on his doujutsu, you should expect this not to get slack.
We've already seen that Sasuke's eyes assist with chakra control, so there's really no real reason I'd register it as raw skill when it was done by a combination of Rinnegan and Sharingan.

Now more importantly, what does this mean for Kawaki when Sarada gets her own Alien tattoo?

Sasuke was completely exhausted at that point in the fight. He used most of his chakra earlier. The scans of their fight in final valley part 1 are unfair against him. First of all, Sasuke was underwater and was completely defenseless against Naruto. Second, of course he needs sharingan when his opponent is a Jinchuuriki of the Nine Tailed Fox, and can move faster than most people can react. Sasuke actually deserves a lot of respect for being able to predict Naruto, and react to his movements.

Chakra Control

You completely misinterpreted the Obito scan. He said: "I'll match your chakra level with mine", which is necessary, because they were coordinating an attack together, and he needed to match his Chakra to fuse their Ninjutsu together. It has nothing to do with his lack of Chakra control. Tell me, how would he match his Chakra without the sharingan? He can't put Naruto's Rasenshuriken on a scale and weigh its Chakra. The Sharingan was completely necessary.

Well of course, but I think that's natural. Sasuke is a prodigy in his own right, but there's no mistake is saying that his Uchiha blood (and Dojutsu) give him benefits that he couldn't exist without.

You'll hardly find a Prodigy/Genius who is also an Uchiha (or to that extension anyone who has a KKG) AND does not benefit from their inherited powers.

The same with Neji in a way. He's a genius, but because of his Hyuuga Blood/Byakugan he stands out. I just think that's logical though.

There's a very few amount of ninjas who just exist naturally without any added benefits, like Minato for example.

Yes he's extremely skilled and the Sharingan further amplifies his abilities, that's all. There are ninjas with greater skill than him as well but that doesn't mean they can defeat Sasuke 1v1 either because he has that precog to aid his already significant abilities.

OT: He's already extremely prodigious and further enhanced by the Sharingan. That's why he also mocks Orochimaru for being a prodigy but paling in comparison to the Uchiha.

The only Uchiha prodigies who were gifted beyond even prodigies long before awakening their Sharingan were Madara and Itachi. Madara was an Indra incarnate and as a kid was killing adult senju and Itachi he was just something else. These two and possibly Sasuke would still be greater in ability than any prodigy even if they didn't have the Sharingan.
