He is a prodigy and a genius but i dont necesarilly think he's a super genius. I think Itachi and Shikamaru are both more intelligent than him.

I agree with this though Sasuke outclasses Shikamaru and maybe even Itachi when it comes to ninjutsu knowledge, still they spank him in overall.

Just because Sasuke will/may surpass someone doesn't mean that he's smarter than those he surpasses. Naruto was said to have surpassed both J-man and Minato, are you going to say he's a super genius too?

Surpassing someone just means that they become stronger overall, not in every area.

Kishi noted many times he will surpass legends and super genius. People can just deny anyway XD

But he'll surpass them not by being a genius but by getting powerups. Like Neji was a bigger genius then Sasuke but Part 2 Sasuke was still stronger because of the CM and the drugs Oro gave him

Manga stated that he will surpass blah blah is not because of rinnegan or senju DNA, yours is complete fanlogic, not kishi way to put it =D

You understand that words can have more than one meaning, right? When most people use the word "genius" in Naruto, they're talking about talent, not intelligence.

Sasuke has exceptional talent/potential, but he's nowhere near as intelligent/tactically shrewd as someone like Shikamaru.

Remember what Asuma said? Games like chess and shogi were invented to mimic battlefield combat. Shikamaru's intelligence at intellectual games like Shogi translated perfectly to the battlefield, making him an elite commander/tactician.

I think they should really just use the word prodigy instead of genius. Sasuke is a prodigy. Shikaku Nara is a genius, even if he's not anywhere near the battle strength of someone like Sasuke.

I don't see how you could argue Sasuke isn't a genius. He was well above all of his peers except the other geniuses
