We're not sure what happened to him, but he's not dead. Oda rarely kills characters in the best of times. Sanji is essentially immortal while off-screen.

One thing about this chapter I loved was how Sanji's disappearance was just some 'oh well' moment but Luffy and Brooke's the zombie-apocalypse-begins momemt for Momo. refusing to come out of his room. That was just hilarious.
